The Rite for the Christian Initiation of Adults, RCIA is the Initiation process for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic. It is for those who have never been baptized or who were baptized in a non-Catholic faith and now wish to consider joining the Catholic Church.
The RCIA is a step-by-step process, in which interested persons explore the beliefs and traditions of the Catholic Church over a period of several months or years, as needed.
If you, a relative, friend or co-worker is interested, please contact
The Director of Adult Formation,
Esther Angafor at 832-768-8256
for an appointment or attend the next RCIA informational Meeting.
We also offer classes for adults who are baptized Catholics but need the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.
Because Christian marriage is a sacrament, the Catholic Church wants couples to be well-prepared. Dioceses and parishes offer marriage preparation to help couples develop a better understanding of the sacrament; to evaluate and deepen their readiness to live married life, and to gain insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple.
At St Nicholas, Marriage preparation programs take different forms. The first phase is the Marriage classes which takes two months or eight classes. And the second phase is the FOCUS test and four classes. After these 12 classes, the couple may attend a retreat before they finally get married. The important thing for engaged couples to keep in mind as they check numerous items off their pre-wedding "to-do" list is the well-known adage, "Your wedding lasts a day, but your marriage lasts a lifetime." The Church encourages couples to invest time and energy into the all-important work of preparing for their married life together.
For couples planning to marry in St Nicholas Catholic Church, please contact

The Virtual Bible Study began in October of 2020. The main purpose is to reflect on the Word of God and share experiences with one another. The group is not limited to St Nicholas Catholic Church members, but has members from different states and parishes. It is a very humbling and enriching experience. We meet every Mondays at 8:00PM.
