The Catholic Men Association known by its acronym CMA, is a laity group of men in the Catholic Church which started almost 25+ years ago in Cameroon. Formerly called the Catholic Men Organization (CMO) at its inception, the name was later changed to CMA. Its members model their lives and activities with the Motto of Service, Love & Humility after the life of St Joseph, Head of the Holy Family; Husband of Mary and Foster-Father of our Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ.
March 19th; Feast of St Joseph Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Foster-Father of Jesus Christ.
May 1st; Feast of St Joseph the Worker.
Foster Christian principles and Catholic ideas.
Promote spiritual, moral, material welfare and development of the Catholic Community.
Visit and pray with the sick, support the homeless and under-privileged in the society.
Support other Catholic Christian Groups and parish activities.
Hold regular prayer meetings and attend retreats & Catholic conferences.
There are currently three chapters in predominately Cameroonian congregation parishes in the USA: the CMA of St Nicholas Parish Houston and two other chapters in parishes in Baltimore and Washington DC. However, there are more than 26+ branches / chapters in Parishes in Cameroon; there are also CMO Nigeria and USA branches.
