The Cadets of Mary is an association of young catholic boys and girls who strive to imitate Mary in her Humility, obedience, Purity and Charity and are part of the The Association of the Children of Mary spread throughout the world
To serve and not to be served.
On the 18th July 1830, Our Lady appeared to Saint Catherine Laboure and gave her a message. Catherine passed on the message to a priest, Abbe Alade. Catherine explained to the priest that Our Lady wished him to begin an Association in honor of Our Lady. The Association was established in June 1847. Pope Pius IX blessed it and gave it official approval. Today the Marian Association is spread throughout the world.
The Cadets of Mary are part of that Association, which was founded at the request of Our Lady herself.
When Our Lady appeared a second time to Catherine, she saw what looked like rays of light streaming from Our Lady's hands. Our Lady told Catherine that the rays represented the graces she was longing to obtain for all who ask for them. Cadets should ask for all the graces they need to be true Cadets of Mary Immaculate.
The guiding principles are found in the Cadet of Mary Handbook with an outline of instructions on the conditions for reception at each stage.
Junior Cadets receive the Cadet badge at their ceremony of Reception.
Senior Cadets receive a Miraculous Medal suspended from a green and white ribbon
Aspirants are given the Miraculous Medal suspended from a green ribbon.
The Miraculous Medal shows Our Lady with rays of light streaming from her outstretched hands. The medal was shown by Our Lady to St. Catherine. The Miraculous Medal

O Mary, my Mother and Model, I place all my desires in your outstretched hands, that you may receive and give them to your Son, Jesus. He will refuse you nothing. Help me to know and to do His will every moment of my life. You who watched over and cared for the Holy Child, will do the same for me, since my greatest longing is to be consecrated to you as a child of Mary Immaculate. O Mary most pure, let nothing come between you and me. In all your actions, you sought the glory of God, so let it be with me, and with your powerful protection, I shall not fear my own weakness. Let me show by my daily conduct that I am trying to put the Cadet's Motto into practice: "To Jesus through Mary". Amen.
Cadets of Mary, Oh that name dear
Mother we are proud to bear.
We love you and we trust in you.
Watch o'er us, is our daily prayer.
With hand in yours we'll mount
towards our Consecration unto thee.
Oh, loving Mother of our God.
Thus, shall we ever faithful be.
Thus, shall we ever faithful be.
Chorus:
What matters if steep is the way Cadets
Know that Mary is near.
'Tis she is the cause of our joy
And leads us onwards without fear.
